The lake “Dei Cavalieri” is the closest freshwater fishing lake in Pisa and is located in the countryside of Colignola near the ancient Medici aqueduct and 800 meters from the Agriturismo La Pisana.

This lake is well cared for and is a meeting place for fishermen who want to challenge themselves even by competing.
They organize competitions with great prize, both in daytime fishing at night fishing and is also possible to book private competitions reserving exclusively lake shores.
At the lake there is a fully equipped refreshment area to enjoy sandwiches snacks or coffee, plus it offers the possibility to rent tables and barbecues to spend a day in good company.

The lake is populated by several species of fish such as crucian carp, rudds, bream, amur, carp, trout and eels. In the hottest periods fishing is concentrated on carp and amur (grass carp), but using baits like maggots, catches vary. As for trout, they are released when the lake’s water falls below 15 degrees, normally in January. The species introduced are salmon trout and rainbow trout of various sizes with a maximum of 4kg and in that period in addition to the competition of the biggest fish of the bottom they organized races to the largest trout.
